the Jungle Book: Buffalos stampede

This was one of my preferred characters in Jungle Book.
I was lucky to get a so interesting asset and more lucky because Buffaloes got a big chuck of sequence in the movie!
I loved their stampede!
For this asset I made a full anatomystudy; how thick is the skin, how they move muzzle's mouth and eyes, proportions, differences between male and female and so on. I got deeper making a full muscle map, sculpted underneath the skin, so that the rigging department had an easier life understanding where to put the joints and how they had to move.
I dealt with all the Buffaloes variations: male, female and calf.
Also, I was asked to make a beauty render with a sculpted version of the fur, to be used as reference by the grooming team.
Thanx to Chris Uyede for the opportunity! It was not too long that I was hired by MPC and I was pleased to see that they appreciated my work.
I wish I was allowed to keep some turntable it for myself. Even if it was just a gray clay render, It was a nice one!
